A gas-powered truck overtakes a horse-powered buggy on a road in the Amish town of Intercourse where the rhythmic sounds of horse hooves clop along the roadways every day. The name Intercourse, chosen in 1814, boasted of the many business transactions in the town's thriving commerce of that time.
