     Greetings in this New Year! We're not only pleased to kick off our seventh annual Discover America through Postcards Photo Contest, but also to present you with a new look for this newsletter, which we hope will create a richer experience to explore America together. In the new format you'll still find your weekly postcard, plus additional related facts, links to related stories, occasional side stories, and your personal links to manage your subscription. Any comments and suggestions you have are always welcomed.

Announcement: Photo Contest - $100 prize

     The purpose of the contest is to inspire people to learn more about America by sharing what you know about your special place. Find out more below:

...So, give us your best shot

     Do you have a stunning photo of a place in the Americas--North, South or Central America? Well, dig it out and submit it today. The image should capture the beauty, history or curiosity of a location. Four finalists will be selected based on originality, composition and technical execution. Each of the four images will be made into a postcard featured on the Postcards from America website and emailed to our subscribers who will choose the winner. (That's right. YOU pick the winner.) The winner of the $100 Grand prize will be announced on St. Patrick's Day, March 17, 2010.

     Entries are accepted until February 20, 2010. All finalists receive an autographed copy of the companion book, DISCOVER AMERICA DIARIES (http://www.postcardcafe.com/dadv1/sample/thb.html). The grand prize winner receives the book plus $100.

     Photo submissions can be color or black-and-white from either film or digital cameras, but must be accompanied by an entry form available at: http://www.postcardsfrom.com/contest/welcome.html
