Laura Plantation, Vacherie LA

This sole surviving Creole sugar plantation is restored based on the memoirs of Laura, its last Creole matriarch. The simple design with a bold red roof, yellow and green woodwork, and red brick (glazed blue in Laura's day) differs considerably from traditional white columned southern plantations.
